Here at East Ward, we believe that the social and emotional wellbeing of each child is paramount to their development. By providing a whole-school nurturing environment and supportive pastoral care, children develop the skills needed to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle.
What this means for your child:
The Six Principles of Nurture are embedded in our school ethos and environment.
We aim to ensure that all our children and families feel supported and are able to ask for help as and when the need arises.
Any child in the school can ask to speak to Miss Sheridan or Miss Hewitt if they have a problem or a worry. Teachers can refer a pupil if they believe the child would benefit from pastoral support. If parents would like one of the Pastoral Team to see their child, they can arrange this by contacting Miss Sheridan or Miss Hewitt via the school office.
In addition to this, any teacher or parent can refer to Miss Shedwick, our SENDCo, if they feel the child would benefit from SEN support in school.
What the children say about the principles:
· I will use my words to say how I feel
· I will treat others how I wanted to be treated
· I will always listen to others
· I will safely express my emotions
· I will play safely with my friends
